Maiz Tacos is a cosy little hole-in-the-wall taqueria, in Dar Al Wasl, with bright quirky wall art, and an open kitchen.

The food at Maiz Tacos is so good. For starters, we ordered the Mexican Corn on the Cob (AED 30), and Queso and Chips (AED 30). The Queso and Chips are stuff my dreams are made out of. It’s delicious, addictive, and you simply MUST order it if you like cheese (and really, who doesn’t!)

Let’s talk about the tacos. Pictured above are the Pollo Asado Tacos (AED 40). The tortillas were soft, tender, so well hydrated. The combination of the chicken, the tortilla, and the pickled onion toppings, made for a really delicious mouthful with each bite.

The vegetarian Calabaza Tacos (AED 35) were not just a really good veggie option, but were good enough to stand on their own and warrant an order, even if you’re non-vegetarian.
Overall, the food is it’s delicious enough to warrant a visit. We couldn’t stop thinking about it, and went right back the very next week!
