We were recently invited to lunch at new and super cute, Bean There Bistro.
The interiors are quirky and super cute – from the designer tiles, to the self-sustaining wall of plants, and the quirky wall art – it’s very on-trend and visually appealing.
What we ate:
Bacon Wrapped Dates (AED 32) – If you’ve never had bacon wrapped dates before, here’s your chance. While this is beef bacon, the saltiness of the bacon mixed with the sweet tender dates and blue cheese and almond surprise in the middle is quite a treat.
Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls (AED 28) – These were crispy and mildly spiced. If you like things spicy, be sure to ask for a spicy sauce on the side.
Crab Cakes (AED 36) – Delicate and well balanced with the sauce that came on the side.
Marinated Beet & Goat’s Cheese Salad (AED 45) – This salad was just incredible. We couldn’t stop ourselves – we just kept on and on eating it. It was my favourite out of all the starters. And let’s face it – it’s pretty gorgeous as well.
The Bean There (AED 38) – When a restaurant puts its name on a dish, you know it’s going to be good. This Halloumi sandwich did not disappoint! It was really delicious and unique. As an added bonus, it’s also vegetarian.
Philadelphia Steak Sandwich (AED 45) – If steak sandwiches are your thing, this one will hit the spot for you.
Crispy Half Chicken Sous Vide (AED 58) – Sous-Vide is a method of cooking, where the food is marinated and sealed in an airtight bag, and slow cooked in a water bath for several hours, resulting in an incredibly tender meat. This chicken was then given a crispy finish over a flame, and served with a side of ratatouille and a delicious mash.
Red Velvet Cake (AED 16) – I usually do not go for red velvet cakes – to me they’re just gimmicky – a chocolate cake with red food colouring – but this one absolutely changed my mind. It’s like a grown-up version of red velvet cakes – the flavours are not just straightforward chocolate and cream cheese – they’re nuanced and so delicious! When I started complimenting the red velvet cake, the staff mentioned that this cake had already become a bit of a legend in the bistro. I’m definitely going to be coming back for this one!
Apple Delight (AED 18) – Its sweet, cinamonny, warm, and autumnal.
With Shisha, Alcohol, Coffee, wide variety of food, and indoor & outdoor seating, the upscale Bean There Bistro hits all the right notes – and with winter coming up, it’s going to be a place we visit often this year.
